This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My kindergartners come from a low socioeconomic background. Even though this is on their back, they are the most loving and hard working 5 and 6-year-olds. Being a teacher, I don’t have much to give financially, and I want my students to grow and thrive as much as they can. As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges, both in and out of the classroom.
These students come from tough situations and despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best.
My Project
In kindergarten, it can be tricky to keep our classroom clean! We eat breakfast, snacks, and sometimes lunch in our classroom. Sometimes the inevitable spill will happen, and it gets super messy!
These materials will help our classroom stay a safe and healthy environment.
The paper cups will help us stay hydrated and alert during the day. The disinfecting sprays and wipes will help us spray down or wipe down any surfaces to keep them free from germs. The paper towels will help us clean up any spills we make and the gloves will help us pick up trash when needed.
