Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Hays STEAM Academy is a school of choice in Odessa, Texas. The students who attend this school have all tested to get in and maintain high marks in both their academics and behavior to stay enrolled. The students come from all walks of life, from all over the city of Odessa.

They understand that proper hand hygiene helps them stay healthy.

They have been proactive in their hand hygiene by informing the custodial staff when the restrooms run out of soap and paper towels. They would appreciate the support to help keep themselves and their classmates healthy.

My Project

I have been teaching students about proper hand hygiene and its benefits since the beginning of the school year. The hand sanitizer stations will be placed throughout the school to boost the student's hand hygiene as they walk from their classrooms to other elective classes such as art, music, pe, etc.

My hope is that this will help decrease the cross-contamination throughout the school.

The decrease would help keep the illness from spreading from class to class. Keeping them germ-free will help the students maintain a 97.7% attendance rate, which is big work for little people! Thank you for your help and support.
