Help me give my students one Curious Chef Caddy, one cooking book, kids friendly utensils and bake ware, pots and mixing bowl and Black and Decker blender and juicer.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I have a class of 16 amazing students. They are eager to learn and always willing to lend a helping hand. I love when they utilize lessons learned throughout the curriculum and make inferences. Just seeing them make connections one by one and then if encountered by a problem that leaves them stumped observing them seek help progress.
They have the most inquisitive minds and they put those thoughts into action.
I have a student who have mastered writing numbers and letters and advanced to writing bubble letters and numbers. Now, he spends every moment showing off his skills.
My Project
Teaching the student how to cook will assist them in their development. Hands on cooking activities will assist students with self-esteem, confidence, self- direction and independence. Activities such as squeezing, chopping, mixing with assist muscle control and eye hand coordination.
Cooking with the students will also assist with language and cognitive development.These cooking activities give the students the opportunities to make predictions and observations.
It will also give the students opportunity to think and solve problem and measuring. When using a recipe, the students will organize the ingredients, follow multiple step directions and follow sequences.
