Celebrate Black Teachers and Students
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students attend a Title I school in Philadelphia and almost all receive free or reduced-price lunch and breakfast. They attend a typical inner-city school. Most face serious obstacles before they even walk through the doors in the morning. Our goal is to make our school a safe and loving environment.
Our students come from diverse backgrounds and different countries. This makes our school pretty special in so many ways. The students all work so hard and are very deserving of this project.
My Project
This time of year so many students end up sick and then come to school and spread those germs. I would love to have a healthier classroom. We need things like tissues and hand sanitizer to stop the spreading of germ and Items like air fresheners to keep our space smelling clean. We would love to have healthy snacks to promote being healthier. The kids tend to not have any healthy choices in general. I would love to give them the option of pop chips or berries or a healthy granola bar instead of the normal junk food they consume most of the day.
