I work in a Head Start Pre-K classroom with 14 amazing children. Almost all of our students are from low-income households, with many living in or near poverty.
Our students come to school with a strong desire to learn.
We are always coming up with new ways to keep them engaged in what we are teaching and strive to make learning a fun experience. We want each child to go home with a sense of accomplishment each and every day.
My Project
The beginning of a new school year can be pretty tough. We are exposed to germs and can get sick easily. With my project, I am hoping to eliminate any germs in an effort to keep everyone healthy
When a child misses school due to being sick, they might not get the information they need to be successful.
It is my hope that we can encourage the use of Kleenex for runny noses, Purell for germy hands, and the Clorox wipes to do a quick wipe down of the classroom each day and see reduced absences due to illness. The thermometer will be great to help us catch fevers quickly and efficiently.
