This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have a group of Health Science students who have been working since last year to go on a Health Science trip to England. They are all from underserved families and money is always an issue. These kids have worked and fundraised and their families have scraped and scrimped to afford their children this opportunity to study abroad. This is potentially one chance in a million that these children have to explore health science in other countries and apply that knowledge to health science in America. This trip will spark ideas in the minds of tomorrow's leaders. Please help me take them to England.

My Project

The students will be able to see how universal healthcare works in other countries and bring home ideas on how to better provide health care to our own population. They will tour the oldest hospital in Western civilization, walk in the footsteps of Jack the Ripper, experience the surgery theater from the 1700-1800s and solve a case with Scotland Yard as well as interact with healthcare professionals from the UK. Students will see other cultures through the lens their life has given them; and they will gain valuable knowledge and broaden their horizons. Travel is an irreplaceable and unique learning opportunity.
