Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are part of a Head Start program with Pre-K students. I have a group of bilingual students with a desire to learn lots of new vocabulary and engage with all students in English and Spanish outdoors.
The students need to connect with nature; therefore, we want to be able to enhance their language skills, social skills and academic skills with their peers.
By using visual and tactile items in their play they will be more eager to learn and contribute to a classroom. We are invested in molding minds here.
My Project
We are in need of helping our young students learn how to be safe, healthy and eat nutritiously. We are hoping that the Food and Nutrition box kit and health and safety box kit will give our teachers on our campus some resources to use during small group time and during center time.
Our students are spreading germs like crazy, so please help us not get sick so often!
We also want to make sure they have the tools needed to make safe choices when they leave our campus. Our hope is that they can be safer, healthier and more aware of nutritious choices throughout the day.
