What an unprecedented time. It has been a whirlwind of challenges, emotions, and uncertainty in the past two years. This year, students are returning to the classroom and I would love to give them the opportunity to work on hands-on materials. My school is a Title I school with a majority of students of low socioeconomic status. Parents have to work to make ends meet, leaving the students in the house.
Despite this, my students are resilient and adjusting to change as best they can.
They are eager to learn, communicate, and thrive despite the lack of resources at home. With your help, I want to provide my students with the right support, resources, opportunities, and tools to enhance their learning experiences for in person learning!
My Project
Our school puts over 600 students through the lunch line in back-to-back half hour lunches. There isn't time for the students to stop and wash their hands on their way to lunch. Every door handles the students touch, every pencil they pick up, every time they open their locker...they are getting germs. At lunch, those germs are being transferred to their food and into their systems causing sickness. It is critical to be able to provide hand sanitizer to students during this uncertain time. I want our students to see the importance of sanitizing their hands before they enter the classroom and before they leave for lunch. The canvas bags are for students to have their own individual place for writing instruments. The requested cart is to keep all health products organized. Thus, the most important things I can do as a teacher is ensure that my students will be safe when they enter my classroom. With your help, I can provide my students with a healthy, safe and germ-free classroom this year!
