My students need an Apple TV to be able to have full access using music for dance units, creating captivating assessments, using their pedometers and fitness trackers in a 21st century way. The soundbar create atmosphere.
As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges and lack of resources both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to give them the tools needed to succeed and be prideful of their school with creative and meaningful learning experiences. They like to move, they need to move, and they enjoy learning in creative ways. Many of them are being raised in single parent households and receive a free lunch based on their socioeconomic status. These things may prevent them from getting ahead early in life and may not provide them with the life experiences many of us see as "typical". From the minute they walk in the door of my gym, I focus on their potential and growth while they are with me. I may not be able to control their home lives, however, I can certainly control their experience during the school day and build their self-confidence. By doing this in a creative and positive way, I am hopeful to inspire even our earliest learners to continue on a path of academic excellence.
My Project
Theses materials will give students equality throughout the school and a step above the other school's. These materials will make a huge difference in their learning by helping them track their fitness and pedometers, improve their assessment scores through interactive assessments, and create a community hub for presentations and performances during assemblies.
Apple TV and the soundbar will be connected to a TV that is being installed and will enhance the learning experience for the students and the community.
This will make things easier for administrators, teachers, and students to be successful. It will also give a sense of belonging in a school where equality is low and a sense of pride is needed.
