This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My second graders are amazing, brave learners! They are always eager to learn and make mistakes. They come up to me with different discoveries and I can't wait to share those with you!

My students need resources to be engaged in learning!

Most of my students are from low socioeconomic homes and do not have resources that will help them learn. Our school is a Title I school and we need more resources so that students can thrive in school.

My Project

We need more headphones with microphones to help us become better readers! Students can record themselves reading, then listen to their own reading to improve their fluency. Since we want second graders to be fluent readers by the end of second grade, I want to incorporate this fun strategy to make reading fun!

Recording themselves reading engages students, and increases their self-esteem to help them become confident readers.

They can listen to themselves read and learn from their mistakes. They can also listen to other students read and learn from their peers. Through the utilization of technology, they will become experts as readers!
