My Students

My students are open minded, curious and courageous young inventors. Every day their ideas amaze me. They are imaginative and motivated learners. Every day they have questions That make me think. They are artists and scientists. Every day they create and experiment. The kiddos in my class are a diverse group of learners from all over the city. They are young scholars eager to explore and discover. They are uniquely abled first and second graders all learning to work inclusively in a progressive setting.

My Project

Young learners use iPads and headphones each day to complete reading and math programs, read books, and complete research, and take standardized assessments. We desperately need a class set of working headphones to get the most out of our classroom technology. Almost daily, my students struggle with headphone issues. They can’t hear, the headphones hurt their ears, the volume is crackling, the jacks don’t stay put, students argue over the heat pair, etc. These issues take valuable time away from learning and compromise the validity of testing. These issues and frustrations could easily be eliminated by a set of comfortable working headphones.
