Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My school is a Title I school that sits in the heart of Washington, DC. I have a group of 67 students who are fun loving, eager-to-learn new things, excited about school and love to read. My classroom would be considered a melting pot of cultural heritage and social needs. Many of my students have been in the U.S. less than 4 years. They inspire me every day.

To meet their needs, we incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are!

My Project

My students will use these headphones and earbuds during times that would require using the tablets or laptops. We need these because, of course, these pieces of technology make noise and can become very distracting. They use their tablets and laptops for all subject areas, including literacy and math centers.

This will improve my classroom environment and our small group learning communities.

It will also help the other students in the room that are not using technology at the time to be able to concentrate on the task that they are working on.

My students will be very excited to have headphones to use!!!
