My Students

My students come to school each day excited to learn. They are full of discovery and wonder. I teach at a Title I school where over 85% receive free or reduced price lunch. My students are energetic and come from very diverse backgrounds.

These kiddos come from a wide range of backgrounds from small struggles from day to day all the way to being homeless.

My students come to school without the supplies they need to be successful in school.

My Project

My classroom is made up of 30 students. Allowing each one of my students to have a pair of headphones would allow me to incorporate more learning opportunities and differentiate for each individual student. Some lessons require them to watch a video and participate interactively or use the information given to them in the video to respond to short answer problems/questions. Also, my students take their standardized tests on their Chromebooks and these tests require the use of headphones.

Having headphones will improve my classroom environment and our small group learning communities.

All of our students use programs like Dreambox and Epic to add an extra level of understanding of topics taught in class. The possibilities would be endless if each student had a set of headphones.
