Help me give my students a set of headphones that they can use with their Chromebook, it would allow me to set up numerous lessons and learning centers to meet each of their learning needs.
Headphones to the rescue! Having headphones for each student in my class would be amazing! We use the Chromebooks daily for fun educational resources and there is a lot of times that we need headphones. These headphones will play an important part of our day. I currently have 28 talented students in my class. I teach in a Title I building so not everyone comes with the same backgrounds and materials. But everyone comes with the same desire to learn and be the best that they can be. By providing certain materials, such as headphones, everyone has the same opportunities and no one is left at a disadvantage to others that may have more.
In my third grade classroom, we are 1-to-1 with Chromebooks through a Title I grant, but we don't have enough headphones for every student.
This means that we can't take full advantage of using the apps and programs on the Chromebooks. I also teach students with learning disabilities. There are different programs on the Chromebooks that would help me differentiate their learning as well, but the majority of these programs require them to listen to directions or stories being read aloud.
My Project
My classroom is 1-to-1 with Chromebooks. The students are very responsible and care for the technology that is available to them.
Allowing each student to have a pair of headphones would allow me to incorporate more learning opportunities for each student.
Some lessons may require them to watch a video and take notes or respond in writing. Some students can use a program like IXL or Prodigy to help them learn the focus of what I am teaching. Other students enjoy listening to books being read on Epic. The possibilities would be endless if each student had a set of headphones.
