This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students live in a low-income area where their lives face many uncertainties outside of the classroom. The classroom is a place of comfort and stability that these energetic, individual kindergartners need in their lives!

My students love being independent and understanding the world around them.

They welcome projects that help them explore their world, as many have limited access to cultural or educational experiences outside of the classroom. We love virtual field trips, learning of other cultures, and reading books and completing projects that teach us about the beautiful, large world we live in.

My Project

Students are utilizing tablets to build their letter knowledge and early reading skills. Many students can not afford quality headphones to productively work within the applications.

Having headphones will allow them better focus and less headaches of hearing the work of those working around them!

With this funded project, students can concentrate by only hearing their own work and be more excited to complete their daily task on the tablet. Better concentration of these tasks will help my students have a better grasp on early literacy skills to bring them the success they need throughout the rest of their education.
