My students need headphones to help keep them focused and eliminate the classroom noises when they are working on lessons on the computer.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from a predominantly low income school located in Santa Ana, California. A large population of our school consists of ELL students who come from immigrant families. These students do not speak English at home and often times their parents speak very limited English.
The early years are some of the most crucial years in a child's education.
As a TK/Kindergarten student, it is especially important to begin building a strong foundation for school. Our focus is on creating a comfortable and safe environment for students to thrive.
My Project
In TK and Kindergarten, students learn through talking and collaborating with each other. On a daily basis they are prepared to ask hundreds of questions, and we all get excited when it is time to celebrate each others accomplishments. Through all of the excitement and noise, we sometimes forget that others are working independently on lessons on the computers.
Our classroom is set up to be a collaborative environment, but that sometimes leads to more noise and distraction for students working independently.
The headphones will allow students who are working independently on the computer to be able to focus on their lessons. This will help eliminate the noises and distractions that come with being in a primary classroom.
