My Students

I teach 110 ninth and tenth grade students at GHS. My students are currently enrolled in my AP World History class. They are self-motivated and driven to succeed in high school and beyond. They look forward to academic challenges and are thoughtful and critical students. Many of these students come from lower income families and struggle, at times, to enjoy the benefits of some of the lit wealthier peers. I hope that projects like this will close the gap and help to offer a more equitable learning experience for all of my students.

My Project

In an education world driven by personalized learning, it is critical that students have an opportunity to take ownership of their learning. Some students prefer to work with documents, on graphic organizers, or via direct teacher instruction. However, some students prefer to watch videos, podcasts, or vlogs to help them learn. Giving students greater ownership and choice in their learning is a goal in my classroom. Being able to provide these students with headphones to listen quietly while working on their chromebooks is critical. Additionally, it helps to block out any other noise that may distract their learning. Please consider donating to help my students get the most out of their educational experience.
