Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Working at a rural Title I school can be a tough thing to do, but the relationships and the interactions that I am able to have daily makes it all worth it. The students at my school are amazing kids because they keep going. They may have issues that plague their lives constantly, but they don't give up or give in. They know the value of their education and strive to work harder and grow smarter each week. The kids that I have the pleasure of working with open their hearts and their minds to teachers like me, in order to give us the opportunity to teach them valuable skills in school and for when they move on to middle and high school and then transition to college or a career.
We pride ourselves on the willingness to do more for our kids because we know that they not only need to learn but at times they need a helping hand.
They need someone to pull them out of whatever funk they're in and show them that they can grow and be better than they were they day before.
My Project
These materials will allow students to be able to not only interact virtually, but they will also be able to do things like watch videos, listen to books, and videos daily without distraction. The importance of individual learning and differentiation will be able to happen with this gift.
The ability to focus and listen to their specific assignment or research will allow kids to go deeper in their learning and take more away from the things they are wanting to know more about.
Students will have the option of more independent learning and research as well.
