Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

The students come to school happy, energetic, and ready to start the day. My students love school, learning new things, and exploring their environment. They are an awesome group of students despite their disabilities with communication. I teach severe and profound intellectually delayed students.

Most of my students come from low-income families.

Our school is a Title I school with grades Pre-K through 5th. My school is a nurturing and caring environment. The staff members and students interact and embrace my students daily.

My Project

All of my students love accessing tablets, computers, and music. It gets a little noisy with several groups going at the same time. We have tried regular headphones in class, but the kids chewed the cords. Some of my students have autism and other various disabilities with sensory issues. Chewing items are a big part of that. They are also very easily distracted. Wireless headphones would help reduce the amount of noise and distractions. Your donation would make my class a calmer environment for my students. This would make learning stations or leisure activities more conducive to learning for everyone.
