My Students

My students are fun-loving, caring, and a "find-a-way, make-a-way" group of kids. They give it their all when passionate about something. They yearn to connect with others and to make a difference.

My students are hungry for hands-on learning that is engaging, meaningful and relevant to their lives now!

They thrive in interactive activities and want to understand connections about how what they are learning affects them.

Our school is in rural Missouri where access to technology is sometimes an issue. As a result, I try to incorporate lessons that weave various technology tools into them to give students different kinds of exposure and practice to maximize activities' impact. Additionally, whenever possible, I strive to include activities and tools that foster the development of highly coveted 21st Century and soft skills in addition to content.

My Project

I use various types of assignments designed to meet students where they are and to complement various learning preferences. Students often work on different tasks to reach the end goal of learning content, making connections to the present, and developing soft skills.

Having headphones for each student while using the Chromebooks in class will facilitate implementation of personalized learning activities.

For example, some students may watch a video over a topic and take notes while others listen to a reading and take notes, while others may listen to a recording they have made to determine editing needs.
