This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My 26 second grade students are creative and full of questions. They love hands-on, active learning which allows them to talk and move. They are always eager to learn while standing, leaning, sitting, or lying down.
My school is mostly African American, that includes a lot of learning styles.
My wonderful students feel empowered by having some degree of choice and control over their environment. They love having the freedom to move around the room while learning. Most of all, they enjoy working at their own pace.
My Project
The most important reason to invest in headphones for the class is that they can encourage children to keep learning. They are indispensable tools for students. My students enjoy doing lessons on the class laptops. There is just one problem. Each time they go to grab a pair of headphones, they find out that they are not working. The headphones that we have are old and broken. I would like every child to have a pair of headphones. Having these materials will make a difference in my students' learning. Time will no longer be wasted due to delays caused by old headphones. They really need a pair of head phones to use at home.
