This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
As a first year teacher working in a low-income, high poverty and very diverse school, my students face challenges everyday both in and outside the classroom. I teach at a Title 1 School in Northern Virginia where all students receive free breakfast and a vast majority receive free or reduced lunch.
My kindergartners are a wonderful group of students who are eager to learn and make our classroom a special environment where every student feels safe and welcome.
We love to read, count, play and explore the world around us!
My Project
Our classroom has recently received 6 iPads, however we do not have enough headphones! We use the iPads in our classroom everyday for both reading centers and math centers.
Our classroom also has a Lakeshore learning listening center, but I do not have enough headphones for students to use both the iPads and the listening center at the same time!
Currently our classroom has only 4 working headphones. My hope with receiving 8 more headphones so that 6 students will be able to use the iPads and 6 students will be able to use the listening center at the same time! Both the iPad and listening center are important resources that help students learn to love reading!
It would be wonderful to have the wooden stand in order to keep the headphones organized and easily accessible to students using both the listening center and iPads.
