This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My third-grade students are eager to learn. They are curious, creative, and have great imaginations even though we are a Title I school in a high poverty neighborhood.
School is a safe place and I do my best to make my classroom fun and exciting.
Most of my students live in public housing. Their neighborhoods are rough and school is a place for them to be safe. My class is mostly African American children who face a lot of challenges.
My job, as a teacher, is to help them overcome these challenges and become the amazing adults I know they can become.
My Project
Our school has invested in amazing reading and math intervention programs. Most of my students are severely below grade level in reading and math. These programs work wonders but not without headphones.
We are in desperate need of new headphones!
My students love to learn using these educational programs but without headphones, all of this amazing technology is wasted.
Please help us to start 2020 by helping my children grow and close the educational gap that currently exists! I have seen my students increase their reading and math ability by 2 to 3 years when they are able to access these programs! Please help us!
