My Students

We have great sixth grade students. They are curious, excited to learn, and are eager to use technology in the classroom.

Our students are actively engaged in learning when they are working on projects using technology.

Because they may not have the resources at home, our students enjoy using one to one technology in the classroom. In previous years, our sixth graders have been taught a number of computer applications, and are looking forward to continuing that part of their education.

My Project

The headphones will be used in each of the three sixth grade classrooms to enhance learning.

Headphones will be utilized in all of the academic areas.

Language Arts: Students will listen and read passages from ReadWorks and Newslea. Lower level readers will have access to grade level texts with the support of text and speech audio. Lexia Strategies identifies holes in the student's learning and creates activities to close these skill gaps.

Math: Students will work at their own pace and on their own level using Khan Academy which extends concepts for deeper understanding. Prodigy is a curriculum aligned math game that addresses every child's individual needs.

Science and Social Studies: Students will conduct independent research and view video clips to reinforce learning.
