My student are a diverse group of learners. A majority of my students are first and second generation US citizens. My students come from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds, with some having far more needs than others.
My students are passionate learners who invest in themselves daily through hard work.
I want to work towards creating a classroom more deserving of my students by providing them with the resources they deserve to enhance their learning and to help them reach their potential.
My Project
I record myself completing audio versions of reading and assessments. My English language learners, special education, and general ed students seeking further support need these to take advantage of the accommodation.
The headphones will help to level the playing field for students who struggle with reading.
In 2009, I purchased 30 headphones, but over the years, I have had a few break. Many of the headphones I still have, have patched wires, foam deteriorating around the headpiece, and are generally in need of replacement. I have been able to replace 75% of my headphones to date, and have only 8 left to replace! This project will fulfill the goal of fully updating our equipment.
In order to better serve my students now, and into the future, I need to provide them with high quality headphones that allow them to enhance their learning.
