Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are enthusiastic about learning new skills and being able to share their accomplishments with their peers. They are empathetic toward others and enjoy helping when presented with the opportunity. One of their favorite things to do is to help me with various tasks in the library. Many of my students come from financially insecure environments and have learned how to be resilient.
I am inspired by my students on a daily basis.
It is a pleasure to watch my students energetically learn, discover, and explore new material.
My Project
Currently, my students do not have headphones for use in the library/media center. Frequently, students have activities that involve sound using chromebooks, such as NearPod lessons, Brain Pop lessons, and interactive read alouds. Students are not able to concentrate and focus on individual assignments when they are hearing the sound from other chromebooks.
Headphones will enable them to complete learning activities with more accuracy and focus.
The noise distractions from other chromebooks will become a non-issue as students work toward completing their targeted goals. Student-friendly headphones will enable our library/media center to function better as a learning environment for all of our learners, including students who have sensory issues.
