In my classroom, second graders learn math and science!
We like to do math centers and science experiments. They love technology and learning how to use it in the classroom. I would love to have more supplies to teach whole group math lessons in a way that is fun for them!
This is my second year in this classroom and I am looking for new ways to make it more welcoming and functional. I am moving towards more flexible seating and different ways of organizing centers.
My Project
Right now my students use computers every single day. We have four students at the computer center each day and only 2 sets of headphones. It becomes a fight over the headphones and then no one is allowed to use them. After lunch we do fact fluency on a website called Xtra math and they read the questions to you. If all 16 students have their sound on at the same time it is super distracting so having more headphones would be a game changer.
My students are eager to learn and use new technology.
They also are getting better at being responsible and using the technology the correct way. I know that if we got new headphones we would be able to take care of them.
The least thing I am asking for is new whiteboard markers. We use these every day and go through them quickly. I bought a bunch at the beginning of the year but would love to have more.
