This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our school is a small rural school located in St. Martinville, Louisiana. We currently have 563 students. The school consists of 70.7% African Americans, 25.9% white students, 2.6% Latino, and .7% Hispanic. Our students come from very economically disadvantaged families who struggle to provide basic needs for their children.

Our school serves students in grades 2-5 and provides rigorous academics, fantastic teachers and a safe learning environment for students.

Our goal is to prepare our students for success.

My Project

My students need 30 headphones to complete activities on the computer and Chromebooks. These headphones will help my students complete STEM activities and i-Ready lessons that focus on several different concepts. These STEM activities will allow my students to improve in the areas of math, science and engineering.

In order to complete these activities effectively, we are in desperate need of these headphones.

These headphones will also be used when students are completing i-Ready lessons in ELA and math. All of these activities will prepare our students for state testing. This will also prepare my students to be successful in reading and math.
