I want my students to leave our classroom everyday knowing that THEY CAN DO ANYTHING if they are willing to try, fail, and try again.
Our school is a kindergarten-6th grade elementary located in Portland, Oregon.
It is considered a high needs school, with nearly 90% of its' students living in poverty. These kids are an amazing group of individuals who come from many diverse backgrounds and cultures.
Our school has been focusing on building a culture of success where every student understands that with positive behavior, a growth mindset, and high academic expectations, there will be nothing that can stop them in this world.
My Project
My students, like most other children, love to learn using technology. This past November, an additional Chromebook was funded by two generous donors for our classroom. It has become very clear that this technology is a hot commodity! In order to really utilize these resources, we would love to have headphones to be able to listen to the read aloud books, math learning videos, and other great learning tools.
These headphones will allow students to have access to technology that they might not otherwise be able to interact with.
They will become more proficient researchers, readers, writers, mathematicians, and scientists.
