Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students need headphones to use with their Chromebooks. Students will be researching and creating their own commercials to advertise their self-invented product. They will learn how advertising plays a big role in our economy today.
My school is in a progressively growing, rural community with total enrollment in Pre-K through fifth grade of over 550 students.
The town population is approximately 66,881, with 17 elementary schools in the district. The diversity at our school comes from the economic levels with approximately 45% of our students receiving free or reduced rate lunches. I teach in a self-contained third grade class. I have 26 students. I teach students with a wide range of learning abilities.
My Project
My students have Chromebooks and need headphones to use with each computer. Students will be engaged in economic activities as they listen to and edit their own commercials to advertise their products for the Third Grade Product Market. This will help students create, edit, and learn using hands-on technology. Students will learn using 21st century skills and then learn about advertising.
Your donations will enable my students to learn important economic concepts using their Chromebooks and headphones.
Having the headphones will make using the Chromebooks more easy and enjoyable. Using technology will prepare my students to be globally prepared for the future.
