This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students love all aspects of learning. They enjoy whole class lessons; they thrive in small group work with me during mini-lessons targeting specific students' goals; they love working with partners at their tables; and they do respect the importance of being able to work independently and quietly. When I add our technology component to these learning scenarios, the excitement gets kicked up a notch, but so does the volume level. This is because my students don't have headphones, and many need the volume turned up on their laptops to hear all the sounds, information, special effects, and directions their learning might encompass.

My project wants to bring headphones into the classroom, to silence the noise (the beeping, stories read aloud, sounds of points earned on a math game, etc) and let me give my small group the quiet and focus we all cherish.
