Mrs. Blais from Cincinnati OH is requesting technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need headphones, so that they can access programs such as Flocabulary and Brainpop, which use audio and video to supplement the topic.

We are an urban school that serves students with special needs, especially those students with ADHD and autism. My students are growing up and are now in junior high (grades 6-8). They love technology, and lessons that involve movement. My classroom is language arts, as well as social studies and intervention math. Our school is a charter school, and draw students from all around our city. Many of the students receive free or reduced lunch, and are not able to purchase many school supplies. Thank you for considering our classroom!
My students struggle with reading fluently, as well as with comprehending what they read. By offering some Language Arts content to them via their Chromebooks, we are allowing them to access and interact with the curriculum in multiple ways and through multiple intelligences (such as musical, linguistic and visual spatial). Not all students are able to purchase their own headphones to bring to school. Having nice quality headphones readily available in our classroom will benefit all three grades that visit our classroom throughout the day.
By giving the students an opportunity to learn through different media, they will increase their vocabulary, their interaction with the world around them, and their confidence in using technology.
All of these skills will be useful as they move forward to join the working world.
The headphones will be used for Chromebook lessons that include many different websites, such as MobyMax, Google Chrome's read-out-loud add-on, listening to and designing presentations with Google Slides, Nearpod or Powtoons.
