My students are wonderfully creative and imaginative thinkers. They amaze me with their innovative ideas and creativity! They are energetic and eager to learn!
My students love to learn from one another and they are very collaborative, cooperative learners.
We participate in many small group learning activities, and they are always respectful and thoughtful toward one another. We have a very diverse classroom, which makes our learning community even more special. These students are smart, motivated to learn, and passionate second graders!
My Project
My students use several interactive learning programs on the laptops at our school. They are learning to type with correct posture, they use an adaptive math program called Dreambox, and they are beginning to practice coding! The most loved and used program is an online reading library that can read books out-loud to students! We are so lucky to have access to these programs, however we aren't able to fully use them. All of these programs have sounds that students can only hear using headphones.
Unfortunately, we do not have a full set of headphones, so often times students are stuck attempting a program with no sound.
Earlier this year I had amazing donors that gave us a partial class set of headphones. Due to price changes from suppliers, what originally would have purchased my whole class headphones was only enough to buy nine headphones. We would love a FULL class set of headphones that are stored in our room and accessible for all students in our class to use at any time. We also need a couple extra in case new students come. Please consider donating so all students have access to sound!
