Help me give my students working headphones for more focused and enhanced learning everyday!
This project expired on July 15, 2019.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
My students are curious and love to read and or be read to. I teach in a rural school where many students come from low economic families with a high ELL population. Our school is one of the largest populated schools in Virginia; however, over the past several years, funding has been cut.
My students independently and enthusiastically complete tasks while I am working with other students.
They are eager to learn and willing to meet the challenges set before them each and everyday!
The use of headphones is almost a daily event in my classroom. The problem currently is that we have 7 working headphones for 20 students to share. Even when they are taking turns as they normally do in rotations there are not enough for them to use. Three times a year we have to do assessments on computers as a whole class. With only 7 working headphones it will be really hard for the students with out headphones to concentrate on what they are doing.
By donating to our project, you will not only help improve their ability to concentrate on what they are doing on the computer, but you will be helping to improve their academic success!
Students will be able to simply focus on the academic material at hand, and not worry about if their headphones are going to work or not. Plus in this technology literate world, any interaction with updated technology will increase their literacy as well as their desire to learn and use the new technology!
