This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students live in the Edgewood, Kirkwood, and East Lake communities in Atlanta. This neighborhood is changing quickly. Our school serves students in pre-k through the fifth grade. Many of our students' families struggle financially, but our families are very involved and know most teachers and other students by name.

I love my school.

Our staff is a family; our students are bright, inquisitive, and deserve every opportunity to learn and grow. Thanks for stopping at my page, and I hope you will help.

My Project

Our class needs headphones for various learning opportunities throughout our classroom. We have a listening station in our classroom, but without headphones it will distract others from their work. We have various assessments that kindergarteners need to take that will require them to hear and respond to options on a technological device. We also have several math programs available to us on the internet that will help students receive help on our math topics even when a teacher is not with them. These programs require students to have headphones so that everyone in our classroom can focus and learn each day.
