Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are in 2nd grade, and all have a learning disability. My students are diverse in many ways, including ethnically and economically. My students are all unique in their own ways, and they make my job fun and enjoyable.
"If a child cannot learn in the way we teach, we should teach in the way the child can learn." -Dr. Lovaas.
This statement from Dr. Lovaas expresses my teaching philosophy. I aim to make my classroom a fun and positive learning environment for my students. I recognize that they all learn in different ways, and it is my job as an educator to help teach them in those different ways. I aim to help meet their educational and behavioral needs.
My Project
My classroom is in need of a class set of headphones. Getting these headphones in my classroom will allow for them to be used during independent centers with iPads and Chromebooks.
My students have challenges with foundational skills when it comes to English and Language Arts and Math; it would be great to for them to use these headphones for when they access district programs to work on these skills.
The headphones will be help add to the technology in our classroom, which would give my students a much needed boost of practice in the areas of listening and speaking.
