Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students in my classroom are 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade special education students. They have intellectual, sensory, and emotional impairments but are aided by inclusion in a small classroom setting. My students struggle with mathematics concepts, and this year our goals are to build confidence in our foundational math skills and to become more engaged with our learning.

My Project

The headphones will help my students be able to listen to videos during class and also use text to speech during class to help them with reading the math problems. Many of my students struggle to read and in turn have trouble being able to read the problems in math. This frustrates them and often continues to add to their continued trouble in doing math. I plan to use the headphones during class when students are doing their lessons and will be able to watch videos individually so they can start/stop as many times as needed.
