I teach 5 classes of 6th graders, with about 160 students. Many of my students have not had much experience with hands-on science learning in elementary, and they come into my class EXCITED to have time dedicated solely to science. They care so much about each other, about learning and they always make me smile! My school is one of the most diverse in the country. Some of my students can afford to donate supplies to the classroom, but many of my students can't.
My scientists LOVE relating what we are learning about to the real world.
We want to learn what real world problems exist, and come up with solutions.
My Project
When my students have their own headphones they will be able to learn through interactive apps and websites like EdPuzzle, Flipgrid, and Nearpod. Through these websites students are able to learn at their own speed, allowing them to rewatch each video if needed to really understand the material. These headphones are also kid friendly, so that they can't damage their ears by having it too loud! They also can connect their headphones for computer sharing when I want them to work together on assignments for cooperative learning. I am excited to have this resource in my classroom and my students will appreciate them as well!
