Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are mathematicians! They travel to school every day with anticipation of improving their own learning. My students come from homes where they do not have all that the need to be successful.
When they come through our school doors, my wish is for my students to have all the tools they need for success.
In our district, that is difficult due to low poverty and budget issues. My students are eager learners, they enjoy figuring out math problems that deal with real world situations. My hope is for them to see that the real world is a great place to be!
My Project
When students come to my mathematics classroom, they come to work hard. Whether in a whole group lesson, or small group, my students are engaged and learning new topics that will help them as they move through to middle school and beyond.
Using an online math learning system, my students are engaged on provided chromebooks during independent center time.
There is just one problem: the earbuds they currently use are outdated and easily broken. This project will allow for each student in class to use a sturdy set of headphones that can be cleaned properly at the end of each use. These headphones will help students stay focused on their independent lessons and excel in their learning.
