Headphones For Happy Listening!

Help me give my students use new technology and work independently with headphones. It is very beneficial for students learning how to read to hear other people reading, decode sounds and listen for phonics patterns.

My Students

My classroom "tribe" is a wonderful group of second graders with diverse backgrounds. They are very caring students and always willing to help a friend in need. My students love learning and are excited to explore new things. With class sizes becoming larger and larger we are looking for new ways to keep all kids engaged while being able to have small groups and differentiate learning. My classroom is full of diverse learners at all different ranges on the literacy spectrum.

My Project

My classroom has 26 students and is very busy and noisy! We do literacy centers daily, with 10 students using computers at a time. When students are working on the computer, especially to hear sounds and dictate words it is hard for them to hear even with the headphones they have brought to school. We also have ESL students learning to speak English. Hearing the correct phonics sounds are very important! Students often bring headphones that do not fit, work well or ear buds that do not stay put. We need good, high quality headphones to use at our literacy centers.
