My Students

My students are unique in nature, culture, and environment. They are all students who have experienced extenuating circumstances and are thriving to push past foreseeable barriers to prove they’re more than what meets the eye.

Working at a Title I school, many of my students do not have the opportunity to access appropriate equipment to pursue a greater interest.

Because of this, many struggle with finding an outside passion. These passions are what drives them to success and not into the streets of their local neighborhoods.

As an educator, I want to create leaders. Through my mentoring and coaching, it is my job and responsibility to provide my students with the best possible education both academically and athletically!

My Project

My students recently received iPads. Due to our district mandates, we could not provide headphones for our students. Having headphones allows the students to listen to music while working on instructional tasks. Furthermore, for my students that have a reader as an accommodation, they can use this feature on their iPads without being identified. As their growing needs intensify, this feature takes off some of the workload of special education and general education teachers. It is a daily struggles to provide my students with this necessity as it is imperative for their learning. We will no longer have to share one set of quality headphones.
