This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We stick with a routine everyday. My students come in and complete math minutes. Then it's time for language arts center rotations, math center rotations, science, social studies, specials, and then home. We dance to get our wiggles out! My deskless classroom allows for defined areas for centers. It also allows us room to work on projects. Every child has their own personal space.

I have 16 students.

Ten of them are ESOL students. One student receives special education services. My school has a 60.3% FARMS rate. 38% of the students are ESOL students. 12.3% of the students are Special Ed students. Our mobility rate (entrants and withdrawals) is 27.7%.

My Project

I am requesting a class set of headphones for my first graders. Currently, we are sharing headphones with the entire first grade team. Many of these headphones are broken and no longer work anymore.

When I take my students to the computer lab, they are working on a variety of activities - learning how to type, math games, projects, etc.

They need to be able to concentrate, which is hard to do when you hear everyone else's computer!

These headphones will definitely allow my students to hear the audio on their computer, without hearing everyone else. They will be able to successfully concentrate on the task at hand.
