Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have some of the most curious, outgoing and inquisitive students. They are eager to learn and they are very resilient and confident. They are in the DLI program and they are so confident and happy to learn a new language even though its not easy. Additionally with my companion teacher in English they are excited to prove themselves and improve in whatever they do.

My Project

Our school is pushing technology and blended learning in the classroom. Students love and excel at learning with the use of technology, however our greatest challenge is that we either don't have enough headphones for everyone to learn independently or we have too much noise from all the computers trying to work.

Additionally in first grade, especially in Spanish DLI, as students are learning a new language a lot of the fun activities, books and games are read to them so that they are exposed to the language.

However since we have no headphones, sometimes trying to listen to Spanish is chaos.
