My students need headphones. My students come from a very diverse background. We are fortunate to have a few iPads and access to the computer lab. However we only have a few pair of headphones.
As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite all they face when they walk into the classroom, they are full of energy and excitement to learn. My students love to experience new things, work in groups, and engage in hands-on learning activities. I am always looking for new ways to motivate and engage my students in our classroom. My goal is to teach my students to be lifelong learners.
My Project
We have a few pair of headphones but not enough for everyone and a few of them are not in good condition. If we could get enough headphones for all of the students this would greatly help when we use technology. Currently when the students are on the iPads everyone can hear the others sound and get distracted very easily. We will use these for recorded readings, literacy learning games, math apps, as well as teaching the students how to use the computers. I will place all of these in bags with individual students names on them and they will have access to them anytime they need them.
