My Students

The 2nd grade students in my classroom come from a community of diverse learners from many social and cultural backgrounds. Many of my students have already faced hardships in their lives. Our school is an Expanded Learning Time School (ELT), and a Title I school. Many of the students in the classroom are ELL (English Language Learners).

The students are bright, eager, and excited to learn.

I look forward to going to work each day! I love seeing the excitement on their faces when they finally get a concept and succeed in it. My 2nd grade students have a passion to learn.

My Project

The donation of headphones would make a difference in the learning of the entire second grade. These headphones will be shared among all four 2nd grade classrooms and will be used during computer lab time and for standardized tests such as i-Ready. Students also need these headphones for individualized computer time to help them succeed in literacy and math. Lexia, one of our literacy computer programs, includes sound matching activities where students need to listen to the sounds and match them to the picture on their computer screens. Students need to use headphones with this program to them to fully participate in their computer activities.
