Headphones For Differentiated Learning

My students need access to headphones in order to participate in our 1:1 Blended Learning style of teaching. Most of my students come from low income families who can't afford these.

My Students

Our building is a 5th and 6th grade 1:1 Blended Learning Middle School using Chromebooks. Our students have access to many different types of technology in a traditional school setting.

My 6th-grade students come from a variety of backgrounds, economic backgrounds, and speak various languages.

They also have various ways in which they learn in the classroom and the environment in which we teach is very much a traditional setting with the added technology piece. These students are eager to learn and try the different ways and apps to enhance their learning.

My Project

A majority of my students come from low income households and can't afford the additional costs associated with being 1:1 with a Chromebook at times. These families understand the value of a blended learning approach to education. I want to help alleviate some of the heartaches and provide my students with access to headphones.

The headphones will provide students opportunities to learn in various ways and will be especially helpful for my auditory learners.

They will allow me to differentiate my instruction and provide students the opportunity to have informational text read to them in the science and social studies setting.
