My Students

I have a fantastic group of 4th graders who go with the flow. Masks, no masks, in school, not in school, etc. They have seen a lot of change yet they are very resilient and able to deal with whatever comes their way.

We have a lot of fourth graders this year with 28 students.

One of the largest classes in the school. We are having fun while learning.

My Project

This year the attendance in my classroom because of Covid-19 has been sporadic. I think I have only had 2 days with 100% attendance. Because of Covid-19 my students and I need new and creative ways to connect and engage with each other.

Headphones will help us connect through discussion.

We have found that we can use discussion to help us connect with each other. Students can record answers to discussions and then listen to other's responses and respond back. Headphones will help us to be more purposeful so that when we are in the classroom we do not hear the chaos of all that background noise.

Headphones will also help us fill in academic holes as students use research based programs like Lexia and I-ready to fill in gaps caused by Covid-19. The headphones will allow students to clearly hear the instruction and respond to it without background noise and other distractions.

Headphones help in these ways and so many others.
