Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are very important to me. I have currently teaching math for 2 classes of first graders. There are 19 kids in each class. We switch classes every afternoon to learn new things. I love teaching math! I always try to make it fun for those 38 little faces. They love to play games and learn new things. These two classes are tons of fun and always keep me on my toes. Both classes are special and unique in their own ways. We love our first graders!
My Project
Technology is a large part of education. I teach math to 38 wonderful first graders. We use our iPads everyday. We use them to practice our math skills and to take assessments. It is very important that each student has a pair of working headphones. The apps we use on the iPads talk to our students and give them directions. It's very hard to follow or listen to directions without headphones. First graders are a little rough on headphones. Sometimes they need 2-3 pairs in a year! They usually break the day of a test or when we are learning a new lesson. I would like to have at least 10 pairs of extra headphones for students use in case their's break during the day or if parents haven't made it to the store yet. And of course, clorox wipes so we can clean our headphones everyday after we use them.
