As a teacher in a Title I school, many of my students come from poverty-stricken, low-income homes. Some also are learning English as a second language and others have special needs. All of my students receive free breakfast and lunch at school.
Despite these difficult circumstances, my students come to school eager to learn and explore.
They are fascinated with the new activities, opportunities, and experiences that I can provide for them. They have so much love to share with me and with each other. I want to be able to give them every opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed.
Children have unique learning styles. One of the most important roles of a teacher is to figure out how to enhance the learning of each student. Flexible seating offers students the opportunity to discover what style works best for them. Some need structure offered by the classic desk. Others are motivated by being able to choose their learning positions. Allowing students to relax and forget they are in a classroom setting will motivate them to focus on what is being presented. The wobble chairs will allow students the opportunity to wiggle and listen. The bean bags and floor chairs will provide a comfy option and can easily be moved when it is necessary to use tables for certain activities.
Since I have so many students, it tends to get very noisy when we use our individual Chromebooks.
Because of this, the kids have a difficult time hearing, as well as staying focused on their learning tasks. I have a class full of diverse learners with all sorts of special needs, so these headphones would greatly increase my students' ability to focus while using their technology in the classroom. We use technology a lot throughout our day to help us learn, including Edpuzzle, IXL, Quizizz (which the students love), Flip Grid and more. We do all of our testing on Chromebooks, as well, so it's very important that they have the most conducive environment for learning.
Simple supplies are needed for on a daily basis, including pencils, markers, crayons, rulers, erasers and more. My students require these supplies to enhance their work and creativity on projects and daily classwork. Going above and beyond to do their absolute best requires the proper tools.
