Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a teacher in a low-income, high poverty school. My students face challenges every day, in and out of the classroom. It is my job to make sure my students have the necessary materials to develop a lifelong love of learning in a safe and engaging classroom where they can feel successful.
Despite the 95% of students who are eligible for free or reduced-price lunch and the hardships my students face on a daily basis, they are creative, full of energy, and eager to learn every day.
My Project
We are looking to get a few things for our classroom to help us learn. The first thing we are looking to get is headphones. We need headphones in our classroom so that we can use the computer programs that we have. We have several computer programs like I-station, Reflex and many others that require headphones to use. Many of my students cannot afford to buy headphones so it would be amazing if I had extras in the classroom.
During Covid we are not allowed to share headphones so each student needs their own.
We are also looking for a few supply items to help us stay safe adn socially distant. The floor markers with 6 ft reminders would be great to help use keep distance between each other. The markers for the tables will help use keep our spots separated and of course cleaning wipes will help make sure our stations are clean. We are also in need ot tissue thank you for you support
